After having some of the best Chow Mein I have ever to this day eaten, I jumped in the shower and told Em to put in a movie. When I came down she was sitting indian style on the sofa shaking her head. “What is wrong with you” I asked her. “I just cant beleive it” she said and handed the book to me. I sat my glass of chardoney on the end table and curled up in my new suede recliner. “What can’t you believe” I asked her. “Just open it” she replied sounding rather aggravated.

I opened the book and this is what I saw…

To whom it may concern,

I have been waiting for you to open this book for centuries. We have been waiting, HE has been waiting. It is time to come home! Use the key! Come home!

I placed my thumb on the corner of the page and it was like someone punched me in the stomach. It was only a second, so fast my mind could hardly register it happening. When I had touched the page I smelled smoke, thick acidy smoke. I saw a flash of red, a buck running through a blazing forest. I threw the book on the floor.

“Bummer I know right, what a ripoff” Emily sighed. “What are you talking about” I stared at her, still trying to figure out what just happened.  ”I can’t believe she gave us a blank book, but then you did say she was crazy” She mumbled. I couldn’t say anything I just looked at her. She gave me this look like I was stupid and opened the book where it lay on the floor.

The pages were of course blank.
