Pg.27 “The Veil is Lifted”

I can’t really say at the time I knew where the veil was but it was like there was a string attached in my belly pulling me to it. Now that I know more and sit and think of it all, it seems ridiculous that the veil was in a place known for dragon lore. But it was! We traveled non stop until we reached the forest in Somerset that held the veil. Let me start by saying that before we set out on this journey I researched every possible definition of “Kiss”. I didn’t realize that dealing with powers older than time that there could be more than one “Kiss”.

Emily and I made our way through the forest slowly. I lead being pulled by the sensation in my belly. About ten minutes into our walk a buzzing began in my ears, Emily heard it too. A good sign, we were close. As we walked the buzzing transformed to a beautiful humming melody that filled my heart to almost bursting. To Em, it was still a buzz only it was getting louder. Awarm sensation began to travel trough my body and for some reason I stopped and had Emily get the ring from her purse and I slipped it on my right ring finger.

A warm silvery light lit the forest before me, the trees shimmered and glittered, it was beautiful, it was the veil. I couldn’t believe it, I had found it! I asked Emily if she could see it, she could but it was as intense for her. Where the entire area glittered for me, for her there was only one ray of like that was shining down on a rock about five yards to our right.

Emily then took my hand and lead me to the rock, which after we picked it up was not so much a rock but a shallow bowl. Carved from stone and by the looks of it been here for centuries. It was surprisingly warm to the touch and smooth and was a hefty weight. I turned it over looking for something, I didn’t know what, but there was nothing special about it. Then Emily shocked me.

Emily pulled a bottle from her bag, where she had placed the other half of the water from the well. Pouring the water into the bowl, she took a small sip and then before my astonished eyes, knelled in front of me offering up the bowl. A “kiss”, an offering of love and respect. Taking the bowl with one hand, I placed my other hand on her head and drank. The veil lifted…..
